This course begins with a discussion of the ethical influences on the agent and defines those parties with whom the agent has an ethical relationship, including the public, the insurance company, clients, regulators, competition and coworkers. The next section of the course explores the regulatory environment, including the department of insurance and its roles in authorizing insurers, monitoring insurers, approving policies, authorization agents and monitoring agents. This section also defines and explains trade practices legislation such as rebating, twisting, misrepresentation of the policy, fraud and more.
